Maple Creek residents pursue legal options after 2010 flood
One year ago residents of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan were devastated by flooding. Today some people in the community are still suffering from the outcome of that disaster.
Stacey McMillan permanently made the town her home in May, after buying the house that was first affected by the flood.
She recently discovered that, because of the damage, her hot water heater and furnace need to be replaced.
“I hired an inspector to come from Medicine Hat and he didn’t help me at all. I got a contractor from Maple Creek to come here and look, he didn’t say anything. The realtor didn’t say anything and the old owners didn’t say anything,” said McMillan.
