Two arrests have been made following a bar fight in south Regina early Sunday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m., police were called out to a bar on the 2100 block of Grant Road about a fight that had spilled out into the parking lot of the bar. Two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds and the three suspects took off.

A short time later, police tracked down one of the suspects not far from the scene. Then around 11 p.m., a second suspect was found in the north end. The third male suspect hasn't been identified or found.

Yunus Bakari Abdalla, 23, is charged with mischief under $5,000, two charges of aggravated assault, two charges of breach of undertaking and assault of a police officer.

Maluak Joseph Athel, 21, is facing two charges of aggravated assault and two breaches.

Both men are to appear in Regina Provincial Court on the charges on Monday.

Police kept busy with a number of fights

A series of bar fights, early Sunday morning, landed nine people in hospital.

Two of the fights happened on the Dewdney bar strip. In one incident a man was stabbed in the throat. In the other, a car was used to run down five people.

The third fight happened at a bar on Grant Road. Police say it's not clear whether or not any of the fights are connected.
