Her books don’t specifically name people and places in Prince Albert, but author Mireille Chester said if you’re from around here you would probably be able to pick them out.

The Ontario based Baico Publishing Inc. has published the Prince Albert writer’s fantasy novel, Journey. It is the second installment of her work, The Chosen One Trilogy.

“Some people who know me who have read the book laugh because they can pick out characters that are definitely people that are in my life,” Chester said.

Chester is a fairly new published author with her first work, part one of the trilogy, coming out last November. She said she is floored that the series has been doing so well.

“It follows the adventures of Haden, who is a woman from our world, who finds a world parallel to ours and finds out that she’s originally from there and that she’s going to have a great part to play in a war that’s going on.”

Chester said she had always wanted to write a book and just finally got around to doing it.

“When I turned 30 a couple of years ago, I decided that maybe I should get on that and away I went.”
Chester said the trilogy has some suggestive scenes and would not recommend the read for children.

Still, she said people have been asking her what they, their kids or their nieces and nephews can do to start writing.

“If anybody wants some advice my advice is to just go for it. Write and who knows what will happen.”
