Cobin cruises to victory at Senior Lobstick

Colin Cobin looks ready for the Men's Lobstick as the cagey veteran cruised to an 11 shot victory at the Senior Men's Lobstick golf championship in Waskesiu.

The pride of Delisle scortched the course with a final round 2-under-68 to win the 54 hole event going away.  Gary Tufts and Jim Scissons tied for second after final round 74's.  Ray Field carded a final round 71 to end up in fourth, just one shot back of Tufts and Scissons.

Rick Hillstad and Kirk Mcgregor tied for fifth, another three shots back of Field, followed by Ken Hart and Doug Kozak.

Meanwhile, Barry Bates successfully defended his Super Senior title carding a 75 on Thursday.   Bates outdistanced Jake Frose by 6 shots after the two entered the final round tied for the lead.

The Men's Lobstick gets underway Monday with the first of two qualifying rounds.  The Open title which pits pros against amatuers in a 36-hole stroke play event  will be decided Tuesday with match play begining on Wednesday.

Prince Albert's Martin Ring is defending champion.  He has won two of the last three titles.
