Canadian Pacific Railway major tenant of Regina’s Global Transportation Hub
The Government of Saskatchewan and Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway have announced the company is set to become another of the anchor tenants at the Global Transportation Hub — another major economic development for the Regina area.
More than 100 years ago, CP Rail opened up the west bringing hundreds of thousands of European settlers to Saskatchewan.
Now, president and CEO Fred Green is hoping a new shipping facility west of Regina will help get hundreds of thousands of containers filled with goods to other parts of the world.
“We might be opening or reopening to the opportunities that are emerging,” said Green.
Premier Brad Wall says that is of the utmost importance.
