A former acting president of the First Nations University of Canada has admitted to fraud.
Appearing at Regina's court of Queen’s Bench on Thursday morning, Wes Stevenson pleaded guilty to fraud over $5,000.
The former acting president and vice-president of the sometimes-troubled school admitted to misusing $15,000 of federal government money. It was supposed to pay for a FNUC business trip, but Stevenson said he used it for another working holiday and other expenses instead.
He'll have to serve a year-long conditional sentence, which means no jail time. He must also do 75 hours of community service.
