BREAKING NEWS: Province appoints mediator for teachers and school boards
May 31, 2011 | 8:50 AM
At the request of Saskatchewan teachers and the school boards, a mediator has been appointed by the government.
The appoinment of a mediator means no further disruptions will occur in the school years. This is good news according to a government spokesperson as it means grade 12 final exams and graduations will go on as scheduled and teachers will resume with extra-curricular activities.
The two sides will work with the mediator and suspend all job action and media activity during the process.
If the special mediator can't get a consensus, he will prepare a report on the findings of the mediation and providing recommendations to the government.
