Attempted abduction in Macklin

A nine-year-old girl managed to escape from the hands of a man wearing a mask who tried grabbing her in Macklin.

The RCMP say the girl was out walking her dog on Saturday evening, near the town's soccer fields when the incident happend.

The girl told police she was able to push away and run from the suspect.

Sergeant Grant Rusk says people should keep their eyes open for now.

“I'm not trying to alarm the public. I'm just simply asking them to be aware and be aware that we're investigating an allegation of this in our community.”
