University Women’s Group Looking for Help To Send Books to Slave Lake

The University Women’s Club is sending a donation of $500 to the Slave Lake Library.

We hold our book sale at the South Hill Mall twice a year, with the goal of raising enough funds to pay for local scholarships.

This year, due to the generosity of book sale patrons and publicity from the mall for the May sale, we received more donations in payment for books than ever before.

We will be able to provide five $500 scholarships to local female Grade 12 grads, and still have some funds to spare.

The club members decided we should help out the Slave Lake Library since they will be starting over after the fire.

We would like to be able to collect and send books, as well, but without a means of inexpensive transportation, it’s cost-prohibitive.
