Deadline nearing for negotiations between Canada Post and CUPW
Canada post employees could be on the verge of a strike if successful negotiations don't take place by Wednesday, May 25.
That marks the earliest day that the Canadian Post Workers Union (CUPW) can strike, and the earliest day that Canada Post is in a legal lockout position.
“I think that both parties are working hard to get an agreement,” said Canada Post's John Kings. “I think with that kind of attitude at the table we should get one done here.”
CUPW branch president for Saskatoon, Lana Smidt said they do want a wage increase, but it isn't the single issue that would make them strike.
