Cancer patients across Saskatchewan could be affected if enough Saskatchewan Government and General Employee's Union (SGEU) members who work for the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency vote in favour of a strike mandate next week.

In a news release Thursday, SGEU said a lack of progress at the table in April led to the decision.

The strike vote will take place in Saskatoon on May 24 and in Regina on May 26.

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency provides both cancer treatment and screening.
