Regina next for rotating HSAS strikes

May 17, 2011 | 6:53 AM

The Health Sciences union is moving its rotating strike to Regina. About 120 non-essential workers are set to walk off the job at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Monday, the union took a day off from striking to ask the Wall government to order binding arbitration to settle the contract dispute. Once again, the Premier refused.

Union President Cathy Dickson says Essential Services legislation is preventing half of her members from joining the walk outs. She thinks binding arbitration is the only way to come to an agreement with SAHO.

HSAS rejected SAHO's latest offer a week ago and neither side has made a move to return to the bargaining table since.
