Premier Brad Wall says “no” to binding arbitration with health sciences union

The request to the Saskatchewan government for binding arbitration from the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan has been denied.

The union took a break from it's rotating strike on Monday, saying it was to give Premier Brad Wall “a window” to agree to binding arbitration — something Wall said won't happen.

“We understand that from time to time there are going to be labour disputes and some disagreement on issues, but the best solutions are found at the (bargaining) table,” Wall said Monday morning.

HSAS said essential services legislation is hampering half its members from full-out striking. Wall said that's the point.
