Canada and the European Union are in the late stages of negotiating behind closed doors the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), a deal that goes far beyond current trade deals like NAFTA to include provincial and local governments.
If signed CETA would threaten buy-local initiatives and food security, lead to skyrocketing prescription
drug costs and encourage the privatization of everything from water services to health care.
