Another strike underway

May 11, 2011 | 6:47 AM

About 150 health workers will be on strike in Saskatoon beginning at 8 this morning.

This comes after the day after the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan rejected an updated proposal from the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations and two days after a picket in Prince Albert.

According to the union the bargaining committee for the health care employers are not trying to negotiate a fair contract.

“That’s why we are resuming job action and renewing our public call for this contract dispute to go to independent, binding arbitration,” said Cathy Dickson, president of the health sciences union.
