Recount denied

It appears a recount of last month’s band election results for the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation will not happen.

Harold Linklater, who lost the race for Chief by nine votes, said he has been told by a member of the appeals committee that his request for a recount was turned down.

He has not officially received anything in writing.

The band's election act only allows for a recount for the council seats.

Linklater said he intends to look at other legal options.
