The man charged with shooting an off duty RCMP Constable in Carrot River five years ago has pleaded guilty to charges, but is still contesting that he pulled the trigger.
Constable Gregory Toogood was off-duty when he was shot in the arm on his back door step in January 2006.
The 21 year old accused pleaded guilty today in Wakaw to carrying a firearm and using violence to provoke fear, but will stand trial next month on a charge of discharging a firearm with intent to injure.
A charge of aggravated assault also remains before the courts and will be spoken to at the trial, said RCMP.
