Riders make selection in CFL draft

The Canadian Football League Draft is underway and the Saskatchewan Roughriders had the 7th overall selection until they made a deal with the Toronto Argonauts.

The Roughriders aquired the Argonauts 2nd and 4th round selections. With that 2nd round pick (12th overall), the Riders selected defensive back Craig Butler out of the University of Western Ontario. The Riders then used their own 2nd round pick (15th overall) to select offensive lineman Matt O'Donnell from Queen's University.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected linebacker Henoc Muamba first overall:

2. Edmonton Eskimos – OL Scott Mitchell of Rice University

3. Calgary Stampeders (trade 6th, 11th and 37th overall to B.C.) – WR Anthony Parker of University of Calgary

4. Winnipeg Blue Bombers – WR Jade Etienne of University of Saskatchewan

5. Edmonton Eskimos (trade 10th and 13th overall to Hamilton) – WR Nathan Coehoorn of University of Calgary

6. B.C. Lions (trade 3rd, 26th and 34th overall to Calgary) – WR Marco Iannuzzi of Harvard University

7. Toronto Argonauts (trade 12th and 27th overall to Saskatchewan) – OL Tyler Holmes of Tulsa University

8. Montreal Alouettes – K Brody McKnight of University of Montana
