Trial begins for teen charged in the killing of Charlotte Jolly

Day one of the trial for a Saskatoon teen charged with second degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Charlotte Jollly in September 2009 is underway.

He was a youth when he allegedly shot and killed Jolly in an alley just off Avenue W North in the city's Westview area.

Defense lawyer Morris Bodnar had yet to present his case in court, but told reporters they're not disputing that his client shot the gun that killed Jolly.

“The question when you get to a charge of murder is the intention of the individual who caused the death,” said Bodnar. “The question is his state of mind at the time, and the immediate facts just before.”
