Man charged in baby’s death

A Lloydminster man who punched his baby boy in the stomach, killing him, has been sentenced on a manslaughter charge.

James Larose received a five and a half year sentence in a North Battleford courtroom, Tuesday.

The court heard that Larose became enraged while trying to change the six month old's diaper and punched him five times in the stomach.

He had been drinking heavily.

Larose had originally been charged with second degree murder, but agreed to a manslaughter plea.
