Saskatoon couple questions highway safety
A Saskatoon couple is rattled from their trip to Humboldt last weekend.
The weather was fine when they left the city, but sleet and ice came up quickly. Lauren Suchan and her husband were on their way to see family.
“The visibility was getting bad, and we were thinking to ourselves if we pull over we'll get smoked from behind by a truck or semi,” she said.
Their car lost control down a steep ditch filled with water. They managed to get the door open and to dry land, but by the time they climbed up to the road the car had completely sunk.
