Kinsmen Park in running to be Canada’s greatest public space
Kinsmen Park in Prince Albert is being recognized as one of the greatest places in Canada, and is competing for a national award.
The park was submitted as a nomination by the city for the “Great Places in Canada” contest, under the “Great Public Spaces” category, and has made it to the final round.
Wes Holowachuk, with the City of Prince Albert, said he believes the park was selected to the finals because it met many of the contest’s criteria.
“It provides an opportunity for really anybody in the community, whether you like doing sports, or if you just like taking your dog for a walk, or if you like the events that are held there – the Canada Day celebrations. It just provides something for everybody, which is what I think was recognized,” said Wes Holowachuk.
