Prekindergarten Registration

Prekindergarten Programs are available for children who are turning 3 or 4 years of age by December 31, 2011. Prekindergarten programs were developed in the province to support the overall development of young children and to lay the foundation for school success and lifelong learning. The focus of the program is on the healthy development of the whole child – physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually. Because the school believes that children learn from family members as well as from Prekindergarten staff, schools partner with family members and caregivers to provide the best program to support the child's overall development. Parents, caregivers, and extended family members are welcome to participate in all activities and experience opportunities to enhance parenting skills and strengthen social and health supports.

Kindergarten Registration Information

Parents of children who will be 5 years old by December 31, 2011, have a number of options regarding the best kind of Kindergarten programming for their child. Parents may choose the language of instruction for their child, either English or French Immersion, and the type of programming that best suits their lifestyle. French Immersion programming is available at École Vickers School and Debden School. Parents living in the City of Prince Albert have an option of choosing full day-alternate day programming for their child or half day-every day programming.

Principals are available to answer questions about their school, the programs, and special services.

Free transportation is provided for those students who:
