Canadian Action Party candidate in the running

Craig Batley is the latest candidate to enter the federal election run for the Prince Albert riding.

Batley, who ran in the last election, represents the Canadian Action Party. He said he will be going around the riding, knocking on doors, putting up signs and posters and he’ll “talk to people and try to hit the debates.”

While he said winning would be “the best thing that could possibly happen,” Batley’s campaign is more about creating public awareness.

“So many people tell me ‘you should know what you can’t change and have the courage to change the things you can,’ but you can’t do anything about something you don’t know about or understand at all.”

Batley said some of the major issues for the Canadian Action Party include anti-globalization and Canada’s foreign policy.

“I don’t think people understand that it means world government … it wipes out any kind of diversity,” Batley said.

“Our issues really aren’t the same as the governments. We’re antiwar and all of them are taking us down the path to more warfare as long as I can tell.”

Batley stressed the importance of people being informed and not relying on mainstream media.

“I try to point them to just actual data that they can look at to think with instead of basically propaganda. I find that a lot of people are fairly knowledgeable about the things that I’m talking about. It’s just that it’s not the agreed upon reality in mainstream. It’s not status quo.”
