City of Moose Jaw lifts evacuation order after flooding

Things are getting better for residents in Moose Jaw's River Park and Churchill Park neighbourhoods.

The city has decided to lift the evacuation order that had more than 20 families flee their homes after ice jams caused the Moose Jaw River to spill its banks Friday.

Deputy fire chief Rod Montgomery said they were expecting increased water flows overnight.

“Certainly the river channel is handling all that water, so we're going to lift our evacuation order, but we're still going to keep people on alert,” he said.
