West Flat fire discovered by local kids

Apr 7, 2011 | 6:27 PM

Fire crews responded to a West Flat fire at around 5 p.m. after a few neighbourhood kids noticed smoke coming from the home’s roof.

Crews responded and cut a hole in the roof to douse the flame and vent the enclosure.

Firefighters on scene said it appeared the fire began with a bathroom ceiling vent and spread in to the attic, but noted the incident was still under investigation.

No one was home at the time of the incident.
