Melting snow floods main road in Kinley

People living in Kinley, a small town west of Saskatoon, have to trudge through some deep water this weekend.

Reitta Hingston said melting snow has caused flooding at the town's main intersection.

“My husband says 'Okay, you ready to swim?' and I go 'Oh, gee whiz, I got my rubber boots on',” laughs Hingston.

She said the road to her home–and to the town mailbox–is under at least six inches of water.

“So it's pretty deep, and the lady across the street says every year it does this until all the snow is gone.”

Hingston said she's called their mayor, but isn't sure if there's anything he can do. Most people in town tell her they just have to wait it out.
