New area code required by May 2013

Saskatchewan is running out of 306 phone number blocks and will need to add a new area code.
This is a combination of growing population, an explosion of cellphone numbers and more competitive carriers operating in Saskatchewan.
The Canadian Numbering Administrator (CAN) has said Saskatchewan's 306 area code is expected to exhaust its supply of telephone numbers by May 2013.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, which provides the regulatory oversight for the process, will issue a Telecom Notice of Public Consultation.
