Province looking to ban Snakehead

It's looking like the Northern Snakehead will be getting the boot from the province.

The scary fish is able to decimate all other fish populations, and it may be available for purchase at your local pet store.

Tanya Johnston, with the Ministry of Environment, said they are now working towards banning the import, possession, and sale of the Northern Snakehead.

“That process can take a couple of months to get done and approved and everything. We are going to try and get that done as quick as we can,” she said.

Just two other provinces have banned the Northern Snakehead, but Johnston is hoping to eliminate the fish from the entire country.
