Trial set for man charged with shooting off duty cop

A man accused of shooting an off duty RCMP will go to trial in June trial date.

The 21 year old was arrested earlier this month and charged with aggravated assault and numerous weapons related offences relating to the incident in Carrot River, five years ago.

Constable Gregory Toogood suffered serious injuries to his arm when he was shot on his back door step in January 2006.

The accused can’t be named because he was 16 at the time of the shooting.
