Canada has its four game win streak snapped at World Curling Championship

Mar 24, 2011 | 6:40 AM

Saskatchewan's Amber Holland has lost after a four game winning streak at the World Women's Curling Championships.

Holland suffered a 5-4 loss to Sweden, who now leads the way in the standings with an 8-1 record. After improving to a 5-3 record, Holland's percentage dipped in the late game, curling 69 percent and just 53 percent on draws.

Holland enters the final day of competition needing two victories to guarantee at least a shot at the playoffs in a tiebreaker. A loss on Thursday and the Canadian side will need tremendous help to get to a tiebreak.

Canada will start Thursday against Korea (2-7) and than will end their round robin against the defending world champion Andrea Schopp from Germany, who has struggled to a 4-5 record.
