Prince Albert Metis Women’s Association Hiring a School Mediator

Full time employment – April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012

Responsible to: Program Manager, Prince Albert Métis Women’s Association

Duties will include but not limited to:

· Conduct home visits to encourage enhanced communications between children, parents and the community and to support and educate families involved in the mediation process;

· Provide advocacy and support service to students and parents;

· Encourage/recruit and train teachers and other potential volunteers to co-facilitate mediations/FGCs;

· Monitor the justice related needs of Aboriginal women and youth in the community as a component of ongoing program development;

· Prioritize referred cases and facilitate mediations and family group conferences;

· Provide follow-up and monitoring of all cases to ensure compliance and completion of agreements;

· Conduct community education and awareness sessions; and

· Be responsible for providing all activity reports and other duties as assigned.

 

Mandatory requirements:

· Valid Driver’s license

· Produce a cleared security clearance form

· Certified mediator in the Province of Saskatchewan

Salary:

$2500 – $3000 per month
