World-wide pedophile ring bust has Saskatchewan connection
A world-wide pedophile ring has been busted- the suspects hailing from thirty countries- including Canada. Some of the cases date back almost two years in “Operation Rescue”. One of the two Canadian arrests is in Saskatchewan.
Sargeant Pat Nogier with the Provincial Internet Child Explotation Unit says that man is David John LaPage of Abernethy, northeast of Regina.
“We recieved a call on November fifteenth of 2009, indicating they were aware that someone [in Saskatchewan] may be responsible for being in possession of child abuse images,” Nogier said in an interview Wednesday.
184 arrests were made in total. Some 230 abused kids have been taken into safety. The suspects were members of an online forum based out of Holland that boasted up to 70,000 members.
