Downtown Prince Albert – A Great Investment

Mar 17, 2011 | 2:22 PM

This is an exciting time for downtown. With the announcement of the mill reopening and the levy the city will be imposing on new property development, building and renovating existing properties have never been more attractive. Downtown Prince Albert has beautiful historical buildings and properties; a valuable resource undiscovered by many, though in recent months we are seeing renewed interest.

Investors, local and other, have been purchasing properties in the downtown core. One in particular is the Canada Building. This building was erected in 1912, a gorgeous testament to Prince Albert’s early boom years. Today it is being used as apartment living with higher end retail on the ground floor.

As seen in the picture, some of the suites are being upgraded. A potential outcome of these renovations is that we will soon see mid to high end loft apartments on the upper floors of this building. Loft’s are the modern trend; something Prince Albert has not seen before.

With thousands of dollars being spent on this building alone, we can see that people are getting excited about investing in existing neighborhoods. As said before, this is an exciting time for Downtown Prince Albert.
