Police shoot at Melfort man

A man is in hospital after being shot at by police in Melfort early this morning.

Police are reporting at that around 1 a.m., officers were responding to a domestic dispute.

Before arriving, they witnessed a car leave from the house in question and pursued it to another residence.

When it stopped, a man got out with a long gun.

Police say the after exiting the vehicle, man's actions resulted in shots being fired by police and the man being injured.

They have not specified exactly what happened because the matter is under investigation.

The 45-year-old was taken to Saskatoon University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been laid.

The investigation of the incident will be conducted by the Regina Police Service.
