FSIN chief Guy Lonechild defiant as former chiefs call for his resignation

The embattled chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is standing in defiance of six former chiefs urging him to step down.

The past chiefs are concerned about fracturing within the FSIN, and the black eye the federation is getting in the public. They say Guy Lonechild must step down or risk further harming the federation.

“It's difficult for good things to happen when we're under this kind of criticism,” former chief Roland Crowe told News Talk Radio this week.

But in a release sent out late Thursday afternoon, Lonechild does not even mention the chiefs and their demands. Instead, he outlines what he feels are the successes of the FSIN under his leadership.
