Prospects of diamond mine in Saskatchewan are sparkling
Prospects of a diamond mine in Saskatchewan are sparkling as the price of rough diamonds continues to rise.
Right now, the mine near Prince Albert is in the environmental permitting and review process.
It is supposed to be up-and-running by 2016.
Martin Irving with Diamond Consultants Canada said that mine could mean big bucks for the province in a few years.
“The potential of out the diamond mine is excellent,” said Irving. “Hopefully by 2016, you'll be able to get Saskatchewan diamonds.”
