Thieves caught after returning to crime scene

Two men are facing charges in connection with a home invasion over the weekend in Prince Albert.
It happened in the 500 block of 20th Street West.

Police responded to a house alarm Friday night.

On scene, officers noted that entry had been gained through a back window — nobody was home at the time.

Early Saturday morning, police were checking the address and noticed that a light was on inside. After taking a closer look, it was discovered that a rear door had been forced open.

A small amount of consumer goods were stolen, including a television and computer. As well there was considerable damage to the inside of the house.

Police used their canine unit to track the suspects to a house two blocks away, where the stolen property was retrieved.

One of the accused will appear in court Monday and the other will be in court early next month.
