New officers head north

The RCMP is focusing on Saskatchewan's north as it allocates new officers funded by the provincial government.
The province announced 30 new policing positions in last year's budget. Nine will be split among Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
Chief Superintendent Russ Mirasty said he believes most of the 21 remaining people will need to be sent north.
“Because of Saskatchewan’s demographic and changing environment, the economy bringing in extra people, we know that the north continues to be very busy,” he said.
