PA youth compete in Canada Winter Games

Two members of the Prince Albert Alpine Ski Team are attending the Canada Winter Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The races got underway this morning.

Lauren Thompson, 14, and Martin Steyn, 16, were chosen to be part of the Saskatchewan Team after successfully completing the time trials that were held at Panorama Ski Resort in B.C. during the last week of December 2010.

Both athletes are competing in all three disciplines, Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom, of alpine ski racing while at the games.

The athletes flew to Halifax early Saturday morning and have been training at Ski Wentworth, since Sunday.
