One Saskatoon company is making sure when you need an ambulance, you get the best one possible and they've won an award for it.

Crestline Coach Ltd. has been named one of the top 50 best managed companies in Canada.

President and CEO Daryl Ditz says the results of their hard work can be seen all over the city.

“When you see an MD ambulance driving down the street or if you see an Access Transit bus here in the city of Saskatoon, odds are in the case of the ambulance it was built here in Saskatoon. Or if it's a bus, it's actually sold by us.”

Ditz said because of this company, ambulances have come a long way.

“The founders of the company some 35 years ago, started the company with the intent to build a better ambulance. So if you can try to invision the EMS world 35 years ago we had literally station wagons,” said Ditz

He pointed to features like loading ramps and expanded equipment storage as ways that ambulances are more effective at helping people on the scene.

Crestline makes about 300-400 ambulances a year.
