It was a concern brought up by some communities at the recent Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention.
Towns are worried they won't be able to raise money for much-needed hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Today, Health Minister Don McMorris announced that the provincial government will now pay 80 per cent of the cost of regional health projects like long term care facilities, up from the traditional 65 per cent share.
Today's announcement also has physician-related funding including $10.5 million to support physician recruitment and retention.
