Saskatoon Tribal Council Chief joins ranks calling for Guy Lonechild’s resignation as FSIN chief

Yet another voice is joining the call for the chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) to step down.

The head of the Saskatoon Tribal Council is the latest to do so. Chief Felix Thomas said he'd support a non-confidence motion that could ultimately strip Guy Lonechild of his title as FSIN chief.

Lonechild insists he has the support he needs to stay on as leader, even though he's pleaded guilty to impaired driving. Thomas disagrees.

“Talking to other First Nations and other Tribal Councils, there's probably more people supporting his resignation, to do the honourable thing,” he said.
