The Saskatchewan Roughriders are left with a big hole to fill on their offensive line with all-star center Jeremy O’Day announcing Tuesday his retirement.
“My years here in Saskatchewan without a doubt have been the best years of my life. I met my wife Dana here, my kids were born here, and I got to win a Grey Cup here,” said O-Day at a news conference in Regina.
O-Day is retiring after playing 14 seasons in the CFL, 12 with the green and white. Although his playing days are over, O-Day isn't leaving the team. He is moving to the front office as the team's football operations coordinator.
