Drivers not getting the texting message

Feb 8, 2011 | 1:59 PM

Drivers in Prince Albert can’t keep their hands off their cell phones.

The Prince Albert Police Service performed a random traffic blitz last week. More than half of the tickets were issued to those were using a mobile device while behind the wheel.

It has been more than a year since driving and using a cell phone has been banned in Saskatchewan.

“The results of the Blitz were 40 tickets issued — 23 tickets for using a cell phone while driving.” Sgt. Gwen Kennedy said.
