Raiders fall 7-4 to Red Deer
The Prince Albert Raiders fell 7-4 to the Red Deer Rebels at the Art Hauser Centre on Wednesday night.
The Raiders opened the scoring at 7:26 of the first period on a power play goal from Igor Revenko. Mark McNeill skated into the offensive zone, beat two Rebel defenders wide and fed a pass to Revenko who was breaking towards the net. Revenko one timed the pass on net and was denied by goaltender Dawson Guhle but he was able to tap in his own rebound from his knees to make it 1-0.
The Rebels responded just 20 seconds later to tie the game at one but the Raiders would score on a 5 on 3 power play at 9:51 of the period to take back the lead. Revenko picked up his second goal of the game after he was left alone in front and tapped in a Justin Maylan pass from the corner past Guhle.
Todd Fiddler shot a puck on net from the corner just over a minute later that beat Guhle to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead heading into the second.
