Northern highways closed due to ice

The weather is making roads treacherous in Northern Saskatchewan.

In the Meadow Lake area, Highway 155-02 and 155-03 are closed from the Beauval forks to La Loche and Highway 908.

Highway 155-01 in the Buffalo Narrows area from Green Lake to Beavaul is also closed.

According to officials the rain and drop in temperatures caused the roads to be covered in ice. Crews are out sanding, salting and plowing. They will continue working until conditions improve.

Travel is not recommended on Highway 55 east of Meadow Lake, on Highway 903 north and 155 north.
