Music lovers in Prince Albert can get their fill of live performances this weekend.

The Mosaic Music Expo which features a ton of local talent starts off Thursday with a concert by Prince Albert’s Allison Bohman.

On Friday night is the finale of a talent contest showcasing young performers from seven to 18 years old.

The winners get cash prize and the winner in the senior category receives a recording contract.

The whole thing wraps up Sunday night with a performance by Chilliwack.

Rich McFarlane, with Mosaic Music, said he wanted the event to end with a bang.

“They’re a classic Canadian rock band and most people I think know several of their songs,” McFarlane said.

Tickets are required for the theater shows, but there is free entertainment in the lobby.

“We have just a great group of local bands, The Spiffs and The Jordan Dunning Band and Misdeal playing in the lobby … it’s exciting because there is no cover charge to get into the lobby to see any of these groups, you can just come right in.”

As well as the entertainment McFarlane said there will be instruments and musical equipment for sale and a bunch of local food vendors.

“I just hope everyone has a good weekend. The good news is it’s in a beautiful venue and rain or shine it’s going to be good weather inside and great music.”
