Regina stadium doesn’t sit right with National Citizens’ Coalition
A specific type of federal funding for facilities, like a potential domed stadium in Regina, leaves the National Citizens' Coalition (NCC) feeling uneasy.
“I think it's going to put money into rich people's pockets,” said NCC president Peter Coleman.
The Saskatchewan government has applied for funding from Ottawa's P3 fund. The stimulus money isn't supposed to be used for facilities used only for professional sports teams, but that could change.
However, Coleman says taxpayers need to be aware of what that funding could mean for them.
