SIAST goes public with final offer to union

The labour dispute between SIAST and its instructors union, Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union is no closer to being settled.

SIAST is now attempting to put pressure on SGEU by posting the details of its final offer to the union online for union members to read.

The two sides remain far apart on a new collective agreement after mediation talks broke down last week.

The union walked away from the talks following the management’s final offer that included a 5.5 per cent wage increase over three years.

The union said the offer was less than what's been offered before, while SIAST is saying the opposite, and wants the union to let its members vote on it.
